SMOKEY, TINA and BESS (domestic short hair)
Rescued by Roberta and Larry from Capital Area Humane Society, June 2000.
Sally rescued SAMSON (grey dane/boxer) in May 2008 from a family divorce,
rescued VINCENT (brindle mastiff) in January 2009 from Dog E Daze in Dundee,
and rescued WHITAKER (black dane) in February 2008 from Animal Placement Bureau

FERGIE (husky) was rescued by a HEART volunteer in January 2009
and Closer to Home Animal Advocates
"She's part of the family unit already.  She sleeps on a quilt next to our bed.
She is such a beautiful girl."

Rescued by a HEART volunteer through Animal Placement Bureau on April 20, 2009.
Zippy, then Cole, and is now Boomer.
"He's become an integral part of the family…
Thanks for rescuing him from the shelter so he could be with us."

Maggie was fostered by a HEART volunteer through Animal Placement Bureau in February 2009.
"I cannot tell you how much she is loved.  She is just what we all needed."  Beth

Sally rescued little Ginger Snap from ECAC. Sally is no faint heart when it comes to taking on
challenges.  Ginger Snap had terrible medical problems at the time of her rescue from ECAC.
Roberta has always wanted a calico, so she and Larry rescued Heidi from ECAC ... shy and reclusive, Heidi was pretty much the complete opposite of the three "take charge" cats already in the house.  Heidi has made good social progress with people and other cats, but it will take a lot of TLC to overcome the mistrust and anxiety that she came to the shelter with.  This is Heidi's ECAC photo.  She was rescued because this photo posted by ECAC was seen on the internet before her turn to be euthanized came up.

Please see the AVAILABLE PETS on the Eaton County Animal Control website.

SAVE A LIFE -- ADOPT !!!

Please SPAY or NEUTER your pets!

Remember the monthly heart worm preventative!

A HEART volunteer rescued Lucy, now Lou, through Animal Placement Bureau on December 14, 2009.
"Ms. Lou is making herself right at home and blending in with the family.  We love her and could not be more pleased with her disposition and wonderful temperament, she has a permanent spot in our home and heart.   Michelle"

On Dec 11, 2009 Tippy was fostered by a HEART volunteer through Animal Placement Bureau,
and had to go through expensive heart worm treatment.  His picture was never posted on the
ECAC website, and he was very lucky that a HEART volunteer had gone there to see him just in time.
"Tippy (Seve) is doing great. We renamed him Seve and he seems to like it.
Seve is great and is the perfect dog for our family!" Pete
