Please encourage people to adopt directly from Eaton County Animal Control.
The Humane Society is rescuing what they can, but there are many others left behind that need homes too. Networking together with other rescue groups will help save the lives of more animals.
Eaton County Animal Control has not been accepting cats. Not all the dogs are posted on the ECAC website.

Approximately 75% – 80% of the cats and kittens are being euthanized in county shelters because there are not enough homes.

Because H.E.A.R.T. is an all-volunteer organization, every dollar that is donated goes directly to animal welfare resources. Unlike some animal welfare groups, no one in our organization is paid. Donations are all used directly to advocate for and assist the shelter and homeless cats and dogs, and family pets in our county.
We have our non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Code.

EATON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSONERS MEETINGS
You are welcome to attend the Eaton County Board of Commissioners meetings. These are open to the public. People can speak during the public comment time. The Board of Commissioners Meeting Room is in the Eaton County Courthouse, 1045 Independence Blvd, on the north side of Charlotte.

The Eaton County Public Safety Committee meets in the Eaton County Sheriff’s Department training room. This is open to the public. People can speak during the public comment time, which is where we discuss ECAC concerns.
