H.E.A.R.T, the Helping Eaton Animals Resource Team, is a non-profit all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing resources for the improvement of animal welfare in Eaton County, Michigan.

H.E.A.R.T. does not operate a shelter or animal care facility, nor do we have plans to do so. Our committment is to promote animal welfare in our community through special programs and to improve conditions for shelter animals.

Because H.E.A.R.T. is an all-volunteer organization, every dollar that is donated goes directly to animal welfare resources. Unlike some animal welfare groups, no one in our organization is paid. Donations are all used directly to advocate for and assist the shelter and homeless cats and dogs in our county.

We have our endorsement as a non-profit corporation by the State of Michigan.  We have applied to the IRS to be tax exempt under section
501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and are waiting for their approval.

If you wish to designate a specific purpose that your donation will be used for, please indicate that on your check (i.e. Spay/Neuter Voucher, Medical Care Expenses, Postage or Operating Expenses).
